Since 1994, Trans-Mississippi Depot Company has made sure all the items listed in our catalogues are copied directly from original examples in our own collection, or from examples in public museum collections or from private collections.
I strive to be as accurate as possible in all my work, to ensure you are getting the most accurate reproduction possible, in look, feel, and materials. We strive to make your impression the best it can be. I work hard to improve my skills to ensure the accuracy of the items you order from me.
This is achieved by not just making a copy of an original item, but from doing proper work in interpreting the original. Through interpreting, all the details of the original item are found and figured into the process of making a quality reproduction.
Interpreting an original entails knowing and finding out:
1) Exactly what the item is.
2) What the item is made of, knowing what the materials are that were used.
3) How it was made, and the original processes used.
4) Developing and drafting patterns and surveys.
5) Where to find the necessary materials to make an accurate reproduction.
All these things I take into account when making your items, weather from our regular items from our catalogues, or made custom, one of a kind.
PLEASE BE AWARE. I am a one man opperation, I make all the items listed in our extensive catalogue. The vast majority "from scratch".
