CILVILIAN 
COATS & TROUSERS

The Coats & Trousers can be made to fit a variety of sizes and are based on examples that would be commonly purchased at the local Mercantile or “Slop” shops that sold mass produced clothing.

These garments are made with period machine stitching with hand sewn buttonholes and some of the interior work as per the originals.

CIVC1 Sack Coat, Wool

Copied from Salisbury’s System of Actual Measurement and Drafting (1865/66), this Body Sack Coat is a nice practical style that features 2 lower pockets and one upper pocket. We offer this coat made is various appropriate woolens. It is fully lined in a nice contrasting solid colour cotton.

CIVC2 Linen Summer Sack Coat

Copied from Salisbury’s System of Actual Measurement and Drafting (1865/66), the Summer Linen Body Sack Coat is a nice practical style that features 2 lower pockets and one upper pocket. The Linen Sack is made un lined, with all visible seams finished……………………………$200


 

CIVC3 Wool Jeans Work Sack Coat

Utilizing Salisbury’s System of Actual Measurement and Drafting (1865/66), the Wool Jean Work Sack Coat is a very plain long style sack, which buttons all the way up to a fold down collar. Fully Lined Coat Buttons with 5 Large (1”) Brass Coin Buttons and interior Chest Pocket.

The coat is made out of a fine Gray Wool Jean Cloth that has a clean smooth finish. Coat is lined in cotton, and is copied from the one seen on page 63 of Packing Irion, by Richard C. Rattenbury.......................$200

TROUSERS

The Trousers we offer here are of a basic style common to the late 1850’s & 1860’s.

Trousers are made as the ones commonly purchased at the local Mercantile or “Slop” shops that sold mass produced clothing. Available in Standard Sizes only.

Trousers feature:

·        Hand sewn buttonholes and Finishing where appropriate.

·        “Frog” aka “Mule Ear” pockets.

·        Fully Lined (Except for Linen Summer Trouser and Denim Work Trouser).

·        Comes complete with suspender buttons and back adjustment belt.
