USS1 U.S. M1851 Schuylkill Depot Domet Flannel Issue Shirt, (1812-1872) - $160.00 The army issued this 100% hand-sewn issue shirt for nearly 60 years, until the pattern was changed in 1872. The shirt is made of Domet, wool & cotton flannel. It is a cream color, with a button at the neck, and one at each cuff. Shirt comes with inspection marks will fit chest sizes 36”-44”. |

USS2 U.S. Contract Issue Shirt, Made in Blue or Gray Flannel (1861-1872) - $90.00 With a 3-button front and single button cuff, this shirt is machine-sewn (with Wilson’s Pat 1851 mechanism) out of wool flannel as per the originals. The States supplied some of these comfortable shirts to their volunteers. Shirts are available either in dark Blue or Gray Wool Flannel and are complete with tin buttons and hand-sewn button holes. |

CONFEDERATE
The South did its best to supply its troops in the field with clothing. Meeting the challenge, the Southern depot supplied huge quantities of cotton shirts and drawers to its armies. The shirts below are made of one of the most common and versatile types of cloth made in the south, Cotton Osnaberg. Both strong and easy to make it was used in clothing, haversacks and knapsacks and in some painted cloth goods like waist belts.
